Circumcision does serve a valid therapeutic reason. It’s a matter of hygiene. It reduces risk of infection to include UTI and STI, both of which can have severe long term consequences if left untreated, and the treatments themselves are detrimental.
You can make a reasonable argument that the pros don’t outweigh the cons, but you can’t make a reasonable argument that circumcision serves no therapeutic purpose.
This is incredible and shocking. Not just that someone like this was out there, but that they held a senior position in one of these ideological pressure groups and no one noticed. Everyone is asleep at the wheel.

I told them I could only suggest to dispose of the material or send to a University that studies it - I strongly advised against contacting people involved in it.

Late last year in QLD, spanning around the Gold Coast and a bit in NSW a MALE EARLY YEARS EDUCATOR (so in my realm of work) was caught with a bloody massive amount of child pornography <technical term is something like child explicit material or something>, and he was like (of course) selling it online, & from memory took pics/videos of these YOUNG KIDS at Kindy! But the startling thing is that he did it for like FIFTEEN YEARS! Or something similar unit point being some of the kids were grown up. Why the FUDGE didn’t he get caught sooner? It would have been a serious in-depth police investigation, with police working with other states (QLD & NSW) & the federal police & what not. A lot of time, effort & substantial evidence would have been needed to convict him.
I can assume he also did touch them inappropriately, though I can’t remember specific details. It’s just really shitty that in early years child care the male workers are sooo few & far between & generally are fantastic at the job. When ur working with kids day in day out with mostly females it really helps to have a male around, especially when u have the ‘shit kids’ that respond better to men. The few I’ve worked with in my 20 yrs of being a Kindy teacher have been such a relief. They are goofy, play well with them, yet when disciplining the kids just respond so differently. Also they do it cuz they love working with kids! Joyful & happy!

So volunteers, out of Centre specialist classes like kinder dance or a ranger bringing in animals to show to kids & they visit all the Centres, they have to legally be checked & confirmed they haven’t committed any serious crimes or crimes against children (u know what I mean!).
