It was recently revealed that there are 27 convicted male transfers being housed in New Jersey’s only prison for women, Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women (EMCFW).
This is appalling, terrifying and enraging. Thank you for your persistence in telling the stories of these women and bringing attention to the violence they endure. I'm livid and wish there was more that I could do.
Any so-called feminists not outraged by this travesty are not fit to call themselves that anymore. I’m going to out myself as a “terf” on IG and share this with my friends, who all seem to be on the TWAW train. This is too important.
I'm so sorry to say I don't know what to do apart from spreading awareness, which is why I try to highlight these issues. Gender ideology has set women's rights back decades and infected not only major institutions but public attitudes. Unfortunately our energy gets diverted away from helping women to pushing back against the many additional harms it's causing. One thing I will say is that the ACLU is not fit for purpose. Maybe I will try to sit down and write about that, because they are leading the charge on rolling back protections. I'm open to ideas.
OK, I am now sending your article to 100 men and women I know. I can at least do that. But what is really needed is lawyers who are like what the ACLU used to be. Are there any such lawyers in the world anymore?
We can support the work of women like Keep Prisons Single Sex, Amie Ichikawa, and the Women's Liberation Front which is perhaps the only remaining feminist group in the US not yet captured by gender ideology. I may be wrong there. But it's heartbreaking that at a time of escalating male violence against women, this fact is being erased by language and women who fight to expose it can be slandered. I'll keep thinking some more on this. I'll admit it's not my strong suit, that what I tend to think I can do well is research and awareness but I'm not in a position to recommend action other than supporting certain groups doing the legal work (like WoLF).
The democrats have a lot to answer for. Did anyone seriously think that women would not be harmed by letting men into their prisons? The only word that comes to mind is IDIOTS. Thank you Genevieve. Please send this story to the politicians in NJ and your state. Let's make sure that they cannot claim ignorance.
The only thing the prison estate in the US understands is women taking them to court for millions of dollars for sex offences committed against them. Maybe then the politicians will wake up to the damage that is being wrought by placing these men in the female estate. How blinkered atmre the politicians that they cannot see that the human rights of the female prisoners are being breached. Time for someone to report to the US government to the UN for breaching CEDAW and the UN Convention on Human Rights. Put these men back into the male estate where they belong or have a prison solely for trans people.

OMG. Tell us what we can do . . .

Shocking & difficult to believe this can really be happening
