So the enby trusts that people will "pick up machetes" to "protect" them? Who's advocating for lynching now then, eh? Obscene doesn't even come close!

Just fyi, Adichie's article discusses two different incidents and two different people. Part two is about Emezi. Part one is about a different person. Maybe correct for the sake of accuracy, because what you're saying is important.

Is there another young woman writer who also referenced "kissing the ring", as Adichie describes in part 1? I updated the post to add that tweet. It was Emezi who said it. I was under the impression parts 1 & 2 were about Emezi, but in different times.

Also, in Part 1 the person is referred to as "she" throughout. In Part 2, it's "they" for the trans-identifying Emezi (except when she forgets occasionally)

This is a brilliant article. The historical information is great as it allows us to see how our current malaise is linked to past madness.

Only wish you had included the explosion of Drag culture in the mix. I believe the 10+ years of worshiping and elevating men who mimic/mock women as normal entertainment has had huge impact on societies acceptance of “trans” ideology.
