Over the weekend, I had the honor of participating in a panel discussion for the Women’s Human Rights Campaign on the topic of gender ideology and the sex industry. My aim was to draw attention to those who promote the sexual enslavement of women via the pornography and sex trafficking industries in order to justify their own reduction of womanhood to pornified fantasies, as part of a broader attempt to normalize their sexual fetishes.
Some of the language and content in this presentation is graphic.
The redefinition of women to accommodate male sexual practices is promoted in public policy, in academia, on social media, and in pornography, and those who are familiar with this topic may notice that what I discussed barely scratches the surface of a widespread phenomenon. Other women have commented on this issue — notably Sheila Jeffreys, who has been researching and discussing male paraphilias for years.
I’ve written in more detail about the proliferation of forced feminization pornography, citing examples across social media, for Feminist Current as well as for Graham Linehan’s substack.
